Last summer, outside a café in Deventer, I saw two women approaching on their vanRaam tricycles. Curious about their story, we started chatting. They told me they rarely left home without their Easy Rider. The bicycle had changed their world, both literally and figuratively. They were getting out again.
I've heard stories like this often. At vanRaam, I'm responsible for everything customer-related. Our customers are becoming more varied. Some want to keep cycling despite challenges. Others say: I'm fine now but want a bike to stay mobile for years.
All our customers have one thing in common: once they try it, they wish they had done it sooner. My own father felt the same. Parkinson’s meant he had stopped cycling, until a test ride on the Easy Rider changed things. Now we go out together again, enjoying the fresh air and time well spent.
My mission is to give as many people as possible that same feeling of freedom. Cycling should be accessible to everyone. That's the essence of 'let's all cycle.
